Camp Overview
This Intro to Programming: Python & Game Design camp introduces students to coding through fun, hands-on game creation.
Instead of just learning syntax, students explore questions like:
- How do games actually work?
- Can I build my own game?
- How do characters move and score points?
Students learn Python by creating interactive stories and mini-games while building core programming skills such as variables, loops, and conditionals. The focus is on learning by doing—turning ideas into playable experiences.
Project-Based Learning Experience
The camp is centered around building games.
Students will:
- Create interactive stories and mini-games
- Design game mechanics (movement, scoring, win/lose conditions)
- Test and improve their games through iteration
By the end of the program, each student will design and build their own playable game to share. This process builds creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence in coding.
